You are dead on about validating people’s pain. So many of my clients have been shuffled around by regular doctors and had their pain trivialized. It is worth the world to them to hear that yes, it does suck and yes, it is a major issue.

I get this all the time. Its a great feeling. Only last Wednesday I treated a girl who had a car accident 17 years ago. Ever since she has seen countless physios, doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors etc. I gave her a nice thorough massage dealing with her adhesions and trigger points as I came to them. At the end she couldnt believe it saying thats the best thing she’s ever done and that no-one else has come close to it!

I too have this happen to me and it is incredible. I have some clients that have stayed with me the whole ten years I have been an LMT and I appreciate that just as much, some of them claim I’m keeping them alive. I believe I found the right career. The thing that amazes me, is having LMT’s pay for the work instead of doing a trade. It is a great feeling, and I try not to let it go to my head.
